Who Is Goddess APHRODITE

Aphrodite is most known as the Greek Goddess of Love, Beauty and Romance. Although she has older origins aligned with the Sumerian and Babylonian Goddesses, Astarte and Ishtar, like these other Goddesses, war and fertility were originally included with her love goddess attributes. The Greeks though did not want their Love Goddess also associated with war, so Aphrodite was given to make love and not war in her Grecian Goddess aspect. Her realm thus focusing on love, beauty, romance and passion. Her birth has two stories... one story is of Aphrodite born of sea foam and the genitals of her father, the Titan Sky Spirit, Uranus, when he was castrated by his son Cronus and the severed member tossed into the sea. Aphrodite emerged from the fertile sea foam as a fully grown, most beautiful, desirable divine Goddess. The other story of her birth has her as the child of Zeus and Dione. As the daughter of sea foam, Aphrodite is aligned with her title Ourania, meaning heavenly divine love and as the daughter of Zeus and Dione, she is known as Aphrodite Pandemos, aligned with physical love, desire and passion. This gorgeous Greek Goddess is all that and a whole lot more! When Aphrodite emerged, stunning, radiant, glorious, most beautiful Goddess, Zeus recognized the potential for discord among the Greek Gods desiring her as their wife and/or lover and moved quickly to marry her to Hephaestus, the Lord of the Forge. Hephaestus crafted many luxurious gifts for his Goddess, including a magical golden girdle that made her even more irresistible to men when she wore it. Not that she needed any help attracting other men! Aphrodite took several lovers, including Ares and Adonis. She is the Goddess of Love and Passion after all! This Lady lives for Love!
